On the morning of 11th October, H.E. Ling Rinpoche visited the Asian Buddhist Conference for Peace (ABCP), an entity in relationship with the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO), headquartered at Gandan Tegchenling Monastery - The Centre of Mongolian Buddhists, during his recent trip to Mongolia.

On the afternoon of 10th October, H.E. Ling Rinpoche gave oral transmissions of the Praise to Chenrezig and the Mani mantra to FPMT retreatants completing a 100 million Mani retreat at Kalachakra Monastery, Ganden Tegchenling Monastery in Mongolia - The Centre of Mongolian Buddhists.

On 9th October, H.E. Ling Rinpoche bestowed the White Tara long life initiation at Gandan Monastery and on 10th October, Rinpoche gave the commentary on the Praise to Manjushri and bestowed the Palden Lhamo initiation, at the request of Gandan Monastery in Mongolia.

On 9th October, H.E. Ling Rinpoche, at the invitation of the Ministry of Culture and Tourism of the Government of India and by the Gandan Monastery, the preeminent monastery of Mongolia, presided over a significant historic occasion whereby the Government of India presented 50 sets of the 108 volumes of the Mongolian Kanjur to the people of Mongolia for distribution to important institutions, monasteries, and national libraries throughout the country.

The Mongolian Kanjur was translated from Tibetan into classical Mongolian language. According to Mongolian culture and tradition, copies of the Mongolian Kanjur were historically stored in every monastery throughout Mongolia. During the period of communist rule, woodblock xylographs were burned, and all sacred scriptures were removed from monasteries.

In the late-1950s, the Indian scholar and politician Professor Raghu Vira obtained a microfilm copy of the Mongolian Kanjur that he brought to India. With the aspirations of Honorable Prime Minister Narendra Modi, in 2020, the Ministries of Tourism and Culture assumed the task of re-printing the complete 108 volumes of the Mongolian Kanjur. The first set of volumes was presented to the President of India in 2020, and in 2021 the sets were distributed to Buddhists in Russia.

Given H.E. Ling Rinpoche’s great admiration and respect for the people of Mongolia, he is delighted to participate in this auspicious event. While visiting Mongolia, Rinpoche will also give 2 days of teachings and initiations at the request of Gandan Monastery of Mongolia.

On 8th October, H.E. Ling Rinpoche visited and blessed the land for Gandan Monastery’s new Meditation Center project in Mongolia.

On 8th October, H.E. Ling Rinpoche was warmly welcomed to Pethup Monastery in Mongolia where he gave a talk for the monks.

On the morning of 8th October, H.E. Ling Rinpoche was given an official reception to the most secret Vajradhara Main Monastery (Tsogchen) at Gandan Tegchenling Monastery - the Centre of Mongolian Buddhists, the oldest monastery in Mongolia. Rinpoche was warmly welcomed by the Abbot of Gandan Monastery and was offered long life prayers and a mandala, then Rinpoche gave a talk to the monks.

On 7th October, H.E. Ling Rinpoche and Khamba Nomun Khan Gabju Choijamts, the Head of Mongolian Buddhism, presided over a significant event with H.E. Ling Rinpoche as a delegate for India yesterday, consolidating the close cultural bond between India and Mongolia. At a function organized by the Indian Embassy and Gandan Monastery, four MOUs were signed between IGNCA, New Delhi and Mongolian institutions for cooperation. The event was followed by a celebratory dinner hosted by the Indian Embassy in Mongolia.
